19 page comic project
Hey everyone,
Back in November I started a comic project which a bunch of people take part in online where you try to draw a comic page every day for 30 days.
I wrote 3 short stories that go along with a webcomic story I've been working on for a while. These stories serve as prequels to the main storyline; the first is about the birth of the Witch Queen, who is the main character's nemesis. The second story is about when one of the other main characters, Tak, ran away from home. And the third is about the Prince's curse and the first time he uses it.
After the first two stories, I stopped trying to bang out a page each day as it was really time consuming and the quality really suffered (I was doing this after work so I only had about 3 hours to do a page from thumbnail to finished). I wanted to take my time on the third story and do it in colour with proper clean up, work on the pacing etc. so I just finished it recently. I'm really glad I did this project, it was a great exercise and a huge learning experience. Now I kind of know what to do and what not to do when jumping into my main comic.
So I seperated the three stories into seperate pages/posts so this post isn't a huge wall of pictures. Here you go!
